SECTION 1: Setting up your new crimping tool

  1. These instructions apply to a common RG59 crimping tool shown in figure 1.1, you will notice that there are 3 adapters supplied with your new crimping tool as shown in figure 1.2
  2. To setup your new crimping tool please select the adapter shown in figure 1.2 on the Left hand side this would be the adapter with a slightly raised center approximately 1cm higher than the overall adapter. Screw this adapter into the adapter receiver. See Figure 1.3 for installed adapter.
  3. Figure 1.3 shows a general setting for your new tool that will produce a good solid connector application on your RG59 Cable. At this time adjust the height of your adapter and receiver to 18-19cm as shown in figure 1.3 Once completed you should have between 18-19cm between point A and point B once you have adjusted your tool to this specification tighten the locking nut down, you are now ready to begin installing your RG59 Snap & Seal connectors with your new Crimping Tool.
  • NOTE: The setting between A and B is for reference you may find adjusting this slightly will increase the performance of your new tool. Always check your connections and adjust your tool accordingly.

SECTION 2: Making your first RG59 CCTV cable.

  1. We recommend that your use a good quality RG59 wire stripper see fig 2.1 which can be purchased at any Home Depot or Lowers home centre. Please note that this tool will also have to be adjusted properly to make a good clean cut on the end of your cable please follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

  1. Insert your RG59 cable as shown in fig 2.1 and rotate 360 degrees forward and then in reverse. If you are using a tool such as the one shown above please make sure the tool is set to the RG59 setting as this tool will work on multiple size cables.

  1. See fig 2.3 for a properly stripped cable end. The distance from point A to B should be approximately
    6-7cm and the distance from point B to C should be approximately 5-6cm with the overall distance from point A to C being 12-13cm.

  1. Making sure that the copper shielding is not touching your centre copper conductor as shown in Fig 2.3 take your RG59 Snap & Seal connector in one hand and your cable in the other hand insert the cable end into the connector (Making sure your cable is centered inside the connector) by pushing and slightly turning at the same time as shown in Figures 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6 (Do not push the cable too far into the connector or you will push the centre pin in your connector out and ruin the connector)

  1. Now insert your cable and connector into your crimping tool as shown in Fig 2.7

  1. Make sure the connector is lined up properly with the adapter your crimping tool and then carefully squeeze the handles on your crimping tool together completely. You will now have a completely assembled RG59 Snap & Seal connector that if assembled properly will give you years of trouble free service!
  2. Please see Fig 2.8 for a completed cable connector end.

2.8

  1. We recommend that after installing your RG59 Snap & Seal connectors that you test all of your connections as shown in Fig 2.9 to make sure both ends have been properly installed.
